DYNAMIC RANGE

DYNAMIC RANGE
CD dynamic range 16 bit/ 44.1 khz is capable of 96dB of it maxed
to realise that in audio equipment would require roughly a power
level 500 watts rms !!!,now who listens at 500 watts?,the highend
guys make high power equipment, but they fail, because the listener
doesnt listen at that level in an average home room, would go deaf,
so,24 bit goes to 144dB even worse!!!. Most recordings on cd's have
the same dynamic range of the analog masters minus analog noise,
the noise has been taken out through digital signal processing, what
this does is they sound better without the noise but the dynamic range
is around 60dB not near 96dB.To sum up High-DR and High power suck.
